The bluethroat is a bird worth going back for, and that’s what I did tonight. I went back to the Hilversumse Meent to enjoy the final hour of Sunlight in the hope of ‘catching’ the singing bluethroat once again. It didn’t took long. First in the field at about 50 meters and he was gone before I could take a photo – which would not have been worth showing here, it would have been too far anyway.

While walking back from the bird-wall one of the bluethroats in that area dropped into the field and started singing. What a beautiful bird.

At the end of the short walk, the sun was setting and a European stonechat (roodborsttapuit) positioned himself perfectly for the shot of the night.
