Today, we were supposed to celebrate Sinterklaas, but unfortunately, it didn’t happen. At least, it didn’t happen the way we had planned. No visit to grandma and grandpa because, like the rest of the Netherlands, grandma was also struck by a severe cold.Suddenly, the afternoon was free of appointments. Time to get out, as the weather finally allows for it. I had known about a group of long-eared owls somewhere nearby for a long time, but I had never found them before. I simply hadn’t found the exact tree because now that I’ve found them, I can’t imagine not finding them earlier! I estimate that there were easily 10 long-eared owls in one tree. They are such beautiful creatures!
