For a work appointment, I had to go to The Hague, and for a few days now, the Bohemian Waxwing (Pestvogel) has been in the middle of one of The Hague’s neighborhoods. A lifer for me. After it rested for a moment in a tree by the road, it suddenly flew towards the berry bush where it perched beautifully. The Bohemian Waxwing is known for not being shy around humans, which allows you to get quite close.
However, for me, it is always a must to let birds (or animals in general) forage peacefully and not to go for the million-dollar photo—which you are never going to get anyway. Unfortunately, not everyone adheres to this, which often results in birds being chased away and ultimately disappearing from their habitats.
